There regular shorty antenna kills the radio reception a ton, I can't begin to imagine how bad it is with that little guy

You loctite them like DA said because people like to help themselves to your newly acquired mod quite often. SO you try to keep them honest by loctiting it down. As far as the reception....you must be the only Evo to ever get good reception with that thing, at times even my S2000 antenna seems to suck, and it is much bigger then that little thing.

NOT with what I got. I tested all the stations around my area and it works PERFECT, no crackling, no hissing, no static, nothing, just clear bass. I got it at first because I didn't care about the reception because I don't listen to the radio, just CDs, but to my surprise it worked great. Was your antenna a Perrin antenna?

Yeah, I kind of figured that but I don't usually take my Evo out except on the weekends and even then I don't leave the car outside for very long. It's a pleasure vehicle. IF it's my daily driver or I leave it parking somewhere all day long yeah loctite the crap out of it!

Otherwise I thought maybe it might come out unscrewed because of vibration if I don't loctite it, but if that's not a problem, I'm not going to loctite it.

First do you have a Perrin because THIS one worked for me (even though it's a mere 2 incher!). I kinda feel privileged being the ONLY one! Seriously there must be SOMEONE out there that has the same thing I have and the reception is fine.

Anytime, happy to help! (Man, I should get a commission out of this! LOL) I ordered it because of the looks too. People think it's too small when you compare it with the long *** stock "RC" antenna but if you really think about it, the Evo looks best with a shorty like the 2 incher since in my opinion it complements the short vortex blades. Plus I'm especially satisfied with the purchase since the radio works as well!

Might as well just put a cap and finish off the VG.
