I personally just did the ghetto chop on my 05 and then again on my 06'. Reception is fine.

take a pair of wire cutters/side cutters/dykes or whatever and hack off the long skinny part of the stock antenna at its base...it works but it is ghetto

got ya, i'm ok then as ive got the 4in antenna, didnt know if you could modify that. But i shall look in to buying the 2" one.....

Good for you. At least now you have two options but I think you'll like the 2 incher better.
