Can we get a resize on those. I had to break on the magnafying glass on them things. But either way I can see the difference; bigger and different bends.

I was pretty sure the bends wouldn't make a much of a difference if any, but the pipe sizes sure would. I was just curious if the 04's and 05's are putting out different numbers.

no they dont.... i have a 2005 and the header and dp are the same as in the right.... outer size does not matter much.. inner size does... but anyway.. check the vin on that car.... im not betting on it but i am quite sure that one is US made..... because here in pr we have stock from all the plants and none that come from japan or australia have that header/dp combination....

I'm not exactly sure what you last comment about searching is referring to. I was just putting the question out there about dyno's from the 04's and 05's. I know that the different header debate has been going on for a while now. Matter of fact we have been trying to figure out all the differences between the two years. So I figured I'd ask if anyone has seen some actual numbers.

If '05 models come with two different configurations of headers and downpipes, it stands to reason that they (Mitsubishi engineers) made sure the car put out the same numbers with one or the other... but who knows. Logic isn't always the best way to go about these things...

I sure wish someone comes back to us with HP & TQ numbers for the two configs. If the other header + dp is a better option, I'll start keeping an eye out for wrecked RAs!

Looks like the 05 one uses less piping. Plus, being 4:1 then a single tube downpipe makes me think that they did this to save a bit of money. Maybe there's a significant enough cost difference between the 2:1 DP and the single tube one to warrant this change.

I have an 05 RA that I bought in February and I just checked out my headers and it's the same as the picture on the left (2004). Also mine was made in Japan I checked the vin. So maybe lancers made somewhere other then Japan have dif headers or the later 05s. Cause like I said i baught my 05 RA in February. Confused

I was thinkin the same way, the pic on the right looks like a turbo header design( Inner pipes under the outer ones) and its way bigger than mine, which is also a japanese made 05
