It's not the year of the 05 it's the month it was manufactured.... I don't remember what RRM said but i think it was any cars made after sept of 04 have the different design. I maybe wrong about the month tho.

 

Curious as to why Mitsu did this - car companies don't just change such parts for the sake of change only, there had to be a reason even if it wasn't for performance.

Uh, isn't the 4x4 we share the engine with manufactured in the States as well? Just curious... does anybody know what the header for the 4x4 looks like? I mean, if the header for the Japanese made RA is different from the one made in the States, it probably means they didn't want to retool because they already had one that fitted the car.

Guys, I have an '05, bought it in august 2004 (signed the contract in june 2004; first 2005 vehicule they sold that year). My header is exactly like the one on the left with smaller piping. Mine comes from Japan and im from Canada.

Why the hell I dont have the one on the right?? damn.. im sure theres a reason they changed the first header...

 

I wouldnt be upset yet. I have seen many times where the first version is better (flow, less restriction) then the second one. Of course that goes the other way too. We will have to wait and see who figures it out. With the 04 and 05 having the exact same numbers though, I doubt that it was a performance issue.
