They better be lighter than stock for the price you pay. I would paint them. The unpainted look makes the car look really stupid.

They are about half the weight of the factory hood. When it was weighed when shipped it was 17lbs with the box, and a boat load of packing material

Wow, half the point of purchasing a CF hood/trunk is for the looks itself. Painting it would give you the look of ~Gasp!~ a stock hood or trunk?! Oh Noez!!11eleven!! Paint=weight...so that throws out the other half of the point to a CF hood.

You'd be possibly making a point IF the hood itself was vented or something different.

The hood isn't really THAT much lighter than stock...trunk weight savings is significant but at this moment I'm too lazy to research the thread that has that specific information.

Why would we spend so much damn money on a CF hood/trunk?...maybe because the price justified the quality of the flawless 1x1 weave/pattern and guaranteed fitment. Believe me, if a single thing was wrong with the hood/trunk, I'd personally drive down to their Cali office and smash it over their heads.

Is it authentic ...I believe so; and even it weren't, the end result of these beautiful CF items is worth it to us.

How much does a slim layer of paint weigh, guy? Most likely the paint will weigh close to nothing. I would only buy carbon fiber anything for weight reduction, not to show off that I have carbon fiber, and not to tell everybody that I have JDM bling bling status.

Most production super cars have their carbon pieces painted. Pretty much all race cars have their carbon pieces painted.

Having unpainted carbon fiber makes you look like that you spent so much on the carbon that you could not afford to paint it.

Hey if it looks good to you than that's all that matters.

So it means that there's only 7 ralliart hood for sale in U.S??

Our cars aren't super cars...and yes the HKS CT230R is painted, but then again HKS also has had an unpainted full carbon fiber time attack Evo as well. I guess HKS' funding ran out before the paint job?
I know that's not what you were implying...

And yea, some of us do buy parts for the shear visual aspects? Why else would someone spend a few hundred dollars on head/tail lights that only differ in appearance? To each his own.

JoD received seven (minus whatever they've sold), Invision received two (minus the one I purchased). The rest...I unno, maybe one is in the hands of some Saudi prince next to his chrome BMW or something ?
