hood mesh help

I removed my louver plate, stripped it completely and left it bare aluminum. I think it looks 100% better than it did in black. The top mesh can be easily removed as well and like most have said either remove as much of the chips as possible and then sand a bit, or hit it with some etching primer and then some paint.

^ you have to clear it otherwise it will bronze or oxidize from what I have read. I know it's aluminum

Hmm, can't recall if I cleared it or not right now. Looks as good as the day I did it though so probably cleared with some engine enamel I had.

I used paint striper, then with a metal brush removed all the paint. After that I cleaned it up with rubbing alcohol sun dried it and sprayed it with heat resistance paint.

All I did was plasti-dip it and it came out pretty good to be honest.

To be honest I wouldn't plasti-dip it just becuz of the heat.
