Wash-Clay-Wax + EVO IX Front Bumper Debadge (No Bracket)

So I decided it was time to spend the day with the EVO. The wife was busy and I I needed to take care of a few things.

I changed the oil for the first time (Got it with 4500 miles, it has 7500 miles on it now), installed the Speed Source shifter bushings, completely debadged the front, including removing the bracket that holds the emblem on the car and Washed, Clayed and Waxed her up.

I started at about 10am yesterday and finished up the wax job at about 7:30pm. Not something I want to do all the time, but it was definitely something that's been on the back of my mind.

--I'll post up a review of the speed source shifter bushings in another forum.

Here are the pictures... no sunshine today, but the car's paint really pops now after I clayed it.

Here it is, before doing anything to it.

...and this morning, after everything...

Another shot of the front bumper...

I love how the front turned out. I now I just need to get a vendor to make a replica mesh to eliminate the holes that are there from the bracket.

It would've been hot if you could've painted the emblem GG. I just feels funny not seeing an emblem in there.

Thanks guys... really enjoying how the car turned out. The shifter bushings are awesome, just want to put a few more days of driving on the bushings before I post a review for them.

I'm also thinking about painting the hood vent (not the mesh, but the vent) a dark metallic red, thoughts???

Don't paint the hood vent, leave it black.

Yes, you have to take the front bumper off.

It's incredibly Easy. There are a bunch of plastic screw holders on the bottom of the bumper, two bolts and a few plastic containing bolts on the top and two on the front of each wheel well. There are two plastic covers that you take off on the front of the bumper which reveal two bolts, once those are off, the whole bumper comes off with no problems. Each side has a plastic clamp that you need to pull down on before pulling away from the car.

I put the bumper back on in 6 minutes.

The only other thing you'll need to do is dremel the bracket off, which I had to do because I didn't want a bracket sitting behind the mesh. The only downfall to that is the holes left over, but I'll deal with that until I get a replica with no holes.
