Worn Tires, How Long Did Yours last?

I hit 7,000 miles and my front tires are worn out. It looks like just the outside tread are worn so i'm guessing they're underinflated? gah.... is this normal? how long did your stock tires last?

thanks for looking, and helping

underinflated. make sure your running atleast 30 lbs of air in your tires, for normal driving (28-30lbs in summer)(35lbs in the winter)...

for best traction, run what the door tells you,(i think its 26 frount and 28 rear, but it will hurt gas mileage a little and tire wear)

(and its not alignment, both sides of your tire are worn, meaning underinflated tires)

last time i checked, i think the evo is the same as the normal lancer, the front suspension isnt adjustable unless u install an adjustable camber, the front rarely come out of alignment unless the susension is modified (lowered) but the rear is fully adjustable and needs to be aligned every 20-30k miles or every 2 tire rotations.

stock tires should be good for about 20-30k miles(under normal driving), i dont remember the exact brand, but u can double check with the tire manufacture, most will list new tires and how long they should last, but your tires are fine unless u start showing wire, just run them a little over inflated if anything and rotate them to the back, will last normal length still (DO IT YOURSELF U WILL SAVE 50$)

HAHA no the front of the suspension is not the same as the lancer and yes it is adjustable...Man if you dont know anything about an evo dont give advice on one. Stock tires rarely last upwards of 15k miles. At 7k his were either too lowly inflated which is hard to tell because of the sidewall stiffness of the advans or his alignment has too much toe.

I'm @ 19,xxx with the stock tires...I'd say about 1/3 of that mileage was on my winter tires. They've held up pretty well, but they are coming to the end of their life. Most of the time when I see Evos with oddly worn tires its because they are still on the factory alignment, which in many cases is pretty off. I would recommend that any new Evo owner get the most out of his or her car by going to a reputable alignment shop (not TownFair Tire) and getting a proper alignment. It can do wonders for this car!

yes its normal because of the alignment some cars end up with. Get it checked out so it doesnt happen to the next set of tires u get.

Looking at the photo the type looks under inflated. What pressure are/were you running?

hell, at 8,000 miles my factory tires were completely slick. front and rear. if you have that much tread, you're doing good haha.

So alignment will wear inside and outside of tires at the same time evenly?

The alignment will do that....it looks like he rotated his tires at one point and has had the setting he has now for a longer period of time. My tires look exactly the same...upsetting with the price of them
