Hahaha already got a set of Recaros thanks and I wouldn't trade em for anything less than another set of Recaros or Sparcos or Brides.

Maybe I'm crazy, but why would you get rid of the stock seats for a set made by Corbeau? It's seems silly to go from Recaro (one of the best) to a lesser company. I could see buying Sparco, Bride or a different set of Recaros but this just seems like a big jump down in quality. This is just my opinion though, as far as I know you have a really good reason for the change like torn stock seats.

My thoughts exactly. I would put some nice cobra misano with black on black seats mmmmmmmmmm . That of course if I had the money.

If I wanted a show car I'd get Bride but if I wanted some nice fixed back seats for racing I'd either go Sparco or Recaro.

Is there any weight savings withthose? They look to be a similar shape to the factory Recaros... or you just like the color scheme?

According to their website, the A4s weigh 25 lbs a piece. The stock Recaros weigh around 37 lbs with all the brackets and such attached. I'm not 100% convinced on the weight of the A4s considering a Sparco racing shell weighs about the same but for arguments sack we'll say it's right. Thus the weight savings for both seats combined is about 20 lbs.

Personally I don't think EVERYONE makes every modification decision soley based on performance and name brand. You constantly see kids buying ebay tubular mani's that make less power than the stock manifold without thinking twice about it simply because the manifold it was attempting to imitate made a couple extra HP.

I don't like the look of the stock seats myself just because they just look so ugly to me. I used to have a Geo Prism with the same seat pattern and I wouldn't want to think of that car while driving an EVO. I know Recaro's are known to be better quality but the Corbeaus aren't terrible either. I had a set on the DSM a while back and they were pretty good and the bolsters stood up to wear a lot better than any other racing seat I've owned.

they look really good and i think they match the car. Let us know if they start to discolor as a result of being such a light color of that material.

ambystom01, what company would you have gone with? Would you buy seats from, say, Recaros, Sparcos or Brides? ......lol

A friend of mine is going to roder these seats and I was thinking about getting them for my lancer. about same price as me buying a used evo VIII seat but I was worried about the side bolsters. I was worried about how high the side bolsters were.

If my car came stock with Recaros I would damn well buy an equivalent or better seat meaning a different set of Recaros or a set of Sparcos, Brides, Cobras, etc. not "cheap" seats purely because they look better (subjectively).
