because in japan they have an MR version of the RS. manual windows, no radio, no A/C, but still with the bilstiens, aluminum roof, BBS wheels, and 5speed or 6speed tranny. in the states you can only get a loaded up MR.

i wouldn't say all that. there are plenty of stock EVO IX's breaking into the 12's. the real difference is the fact that those are professional drivers and that's an 07 EVO MR. the 07's released in other countries did get a small power bump. people talk about the JDM EVO's (06's) having more power than ours, but i don't know if it's really all that much more, if any. the JDM EVO's are rated at 280hp 295lb-ft, while the USDM is rated at 286hp 289lb-ft. on paper, we're up 6hp, but down 6lb-ft. but, as everybody knows, both engines are underrated from the factory because stock USDM IX's have dyno'ed as high as 273hp at the wheels. so i think the two are very close. also, JDM MR's come with more power than the GSR, because they use a different turbo than the JDM GSR model. the USDM EVO's use the same turbo in every trim level, and that turbo is the same as the JDM MR. i think the JDM and USDM power levels are closer than people think, if not just about identical. handling wise, we get blitzed because of the lack of AYC though. that's a jip and a half.
