Best products to clean the engine bay?

Okay, after four years of parking the car outside, I finally have room in my garage and am beginning to park my car inside. But, after years of being in the elements my entire engine bay basically got mucked up. I was wondering if you guys have any ideas of what degreasers, engine soaps, whatever would help get my engine bay clean. Thanks for the assist.

Use Gunk Foaming Engine brite, . Buy 2 cans, spray on, wait 1 minute, rinse, towel dry, .
Make sure you wash the car afterwards to make sure all the chemicals are off the paint surface and plastic trim pieces, .

what are the proper steps to clean the engine without damaging anything? would it be best just to wipe everything down with a damp rag instead of lightly spraying it with a power washer? i apologize for going a little off topic, but i am planning on cleaning my engine soon because its pretty dirty.

all i was saying is that is the proper way to wash the engine. notice how he started it and listened for sputtering or stalling, etc... he also avoided directly spraying the intake and the coil packs.
