I was in the market for a good fitting and well finished CF trunk. I have narrowed it down to these two with price being a big factor also;

Chargespeed and the EvoDave carbon trunks..

Would owners or people who have seen these two trunks firsthand chime in let me know what they think is better? Of course I want close to OEM fit as possible..

 

ive never seen the evodave trunk, but i have the chargespeed on mine and i can say that the fitment is very good

 

EvoDave is very well known on these forums and do excellent work.
What is the price difference between them?

 

EvoDave Trunk FTW! The Chargespeed Carbon Trunks are nice, but not worth the high price tag that goes with it.

i have the chargespeed and i have seen both trunks in person. For me the biggest thing was the weave. Both trunks fit great and I can say from personal experience that the chargespeed fits as well as the evo dave trunk. If you like 2x2 diagnal weave, then go with the evo dave, i'm sure you'll be happy. But the 1x1 weave to me just looks so much nicer. Btw i think yokoono or somethin has the same trunk for like 499. I've also heard some people purchasign the exact smae trunk for 499 on ebay (but dun quote me cause its just hearsay). but if you can't find a deal on the evodave you might as well jsut buy the charge speed from lancershop for like 750 since evo dave's trunk is around that price as well I think... not sure though.

 

ill put money down chargespeed is a hell of a lot more then evodave...go with evodave

 

+1 for EvoDave...I have some pics in other threads with it on my old Evo. Haven't put it on my MR yet. Will post pics when I do.

 

Never seen the chargespeed, but I have the EvoDave trunk and it's very nice. Fitment is near perfect. Had to do some dremel work on the underside to get the wing on and to make the locking mechanism work but worth it in the end.

Sxhawnn; would you get me some more info on some good prices on the Chargespeed? I havent heard back from Dave so Ill go with the Chargespeed and the 1x1 sounds better...

^^ that doesn't like one by one to me, maybe its jut the picture, but one by one weave is a straight weave and 2x2 is diagnal

And holy **** if thats the price for the chargespeed trunk you better buy it now. I'm pretty sure its a mistake on their part but if its not, you betterr grab that trunk now for 450. Thats cheaper than both VIS and Seibon. Lancershop has it for 750 and everyon eelse is like 799+

 

for reference, here's 1x1 weave. Thats my car with 1x1 cf ducts and 1x1 cf lip, the weave of the chargespeed trunk is identical to the ducts and the lip.

I thought Evodave stopped making CF trunks?

 

i dun tink he ever made any of the trunks. He was sellin someone else's product. Nothing wrong with that, he never claimed to have made em. But i'm sure if you look hard enough, you can find those trunks from the original people who made em or other vendors with access to the original producers of the trunk.
