i have chargespeed and it's PERFECT. the 1x1 weave is a lot better. from what i remember, the two trunks aren't that far apart in price.

that's not 1x1. if you want to see 1x1, go look at your wing or a ralliart carbon lip

WOW...i had no idea lancershop.com had chargespeed carbon for so cheap. 750 for the hood, 750 for the trunk. my trunk was like 1300, and i got quoted like 1000 for the hood. well i know where to go when i get my chargespeed hood. oh, my seibon hood's for sale if anybody's interested lol

good man. you made a great decision. i just closed on a house yesterday, so i finally have a two car garage (with an air conditioned workshop ) so i'll be ordering my chargespeed hood soon. never wanted to put the CS hood on just to get messed up like my seibon hood did. i had to have the seibon hood recleared

What ya' think about getting another coat of clear on the CS trunk? My car isnt in the sun much, not that its an issue with the CS, I hope...

not needed. trunks won't give you any problems. if it was a hood being parked outside i'd say go for it, but even that won't help. the only thing you can do is cover it when you're not driving the car. otherwise, it's getting fudged. i figured carbon was carbon as long as you had a decent clear coat so i had the seibon hood/trunk recleared before they were ever put on the car. the trunk was fine, but the hood faded and turned green and i had to reclear it again to fix it. the clear coat that comes on the trunk is fine. you'll love it.

Did you use the original trunk springs with it? I was thinking about just removing them altogether being that it wont bother me to hold the trunk up if I want to keep it open... It should help it the trunk sit better and not warp over time...

i'm glad you brought that up. take them out all together or the springs will warp your trunk BAD. the seibon trunk i had was already gappy, but over time it actually got a lot worse. i had 1" gaps at the top of the trunk. it was horrible. the trunk was shaped like a C by the time i took it off of the car. now if you could find some lighter springs, or modify the ones you have to not put as much pressure on the trunk, that would work. i've seen it done, but i'm just lazy and took them out all together. the EVO's trunk isn't big enough to use for anything anyway, so i rarely open it
