i guess ill be driving around with my jdm bumper AND insurance while you wont be
I'll be waiting to see this write up. The JDM rear is not coming off mine, but I am keen to see one that has been modified to get an idea of what needs to be done exactly.

If you're good at it, start a cottage industry in your garage...make mod money.

with that in mind, anyone know any answer to the original topic?
I agree, with that in mind and myself liking the look of the JDM IX look for my VIII.
I went with the APR rear CF diffusser, Love it

All this talk about insurance companies reminds me of the time a lady hit me and ran. Luckily I got her plate, and after weeks of her insurance company dancing around the issue I finally shoved the police report up their a** and got them to come out.

After talking with them for the tenth time you'd think they'd pick up the fact that I have a Lancer EVOLUTION.

The lady constantly calls it a Lancer on the phone, and says "and the car is retailed around 17k?" I told them no, mine was more like 30+. Apparently they thought I was pulling that number out of thin air. So after telling me one last time she'll have someone comeby and get an estimate on the damage (just a little ding in the front left panel) she ends the call by saying they'll inspect my Lancer.

The lady shows up, looks at the car, and goes "Oh, what kind of car is it?" I told her one last time it was a Lancer Evolution (and after being d*cked around so much when I was clearly the victim according to the police, I did my best to stay cool) and not a regular Lancer. Oh man how I wanted to just point at the badge and go "LANCER EVOLUTION B*TCH". She made some sort of joke about the huge wing on the back, to which I pretty much just

The moral of the story? The people that make out the estimates don't know squat. True this wasn't my insurance company, but regardless, this lady wouldn't know a modified crash bar if it had "MODIFIED CRASH BAR" written across it.

^^^ Bump. I would like to know what aftermarket rear bumpers also fit on the stock crash beam. As I dont want a JDM rear yet w/o a crash beam.

Would we need to modify beam for all aftermarkets? What are some brands.
