Damn man, you are in a tight spot there. Yes hot water will desolve it, spread it, but the vac won't suck it all up, and you will be left with sticky...
The best way, and yes, I know this sucks, is to pull the carpet and clean it out of the car...
I would suggest getting a hand held steam cleaner vac like a bissel and just go over it again and again till you think it's all gone... It will take like 5-6 passes with some dry time in between.
Don't just pour hot water over it, because it will spread the sticky.

yea im with the guy above me, try a hot water vac, i rented one from publix for like cheap and cleaned **** outa my house carpet after a friend passed out drunk in my room, it did miracles and it was less then 30 bucks to rent. try it out
