Hey guys sorry off subject .....
In the picture of the Apex Silver Evo 8 did anyone else notice the Lightning Yellow Evo 8 on the far right ? The taillights were not the clear ones .....
Was that a picture of an Evolution 8 on a dealership lot ?

That yellow Evo is a Evo VII. The picture was taken at Mitsubishi Headquarters in Cypress, California.

I am glad the Rear Wing topic got started. I have a Yellow Evo that I bought in April. I hit a rod that went airborn and it took a quarter-sized chunk out if the leading edge of the driver's side upright. I got a new wing and it was covered by insurance (flying debris=no premium hike). I called the body shop and they are giving me the old wing. So starting 7/7/03 I will have a yellow OE Evo wing for sale. I'm thinking I could get between $500-1000 for it. A new one is $1400. I will upload a picture on Monday.

I agree that the CF spoiler fits the evo much better--and makes it look sportier. I had a Del Sol with a large combat wing---when I was 20--and I got lots of attention(esp. from cops); but now I am almost 30 years old and I wanted the EVO for its performance; but I thought the CF wing made it stand out too much. The new wing (not really new--just an OZ Rally Issue) makes the car look a ton more conservative. Too bad they don't make a wing that you can change whenever you want depending on your mood!

BTW, notice that the Evo7 wing is adjustable, our CF wing is not, even though the owners manual shows how to adjust it!

My dealer contacts say that an adjustable big CF wing will be an option soon!

ogdelsol - I have a question... I can't tell from the pics... but does your car have the 3rd brake light in the rear of the interior (on the rear speaker deck)???

I don't know why they'd give you the light bar in the wing AND the interior brake light...

Oh well, just wondering.

Dude I like it. Like BMo said - stealth mode ....

Some of us also have jobs that necessitate us projecting a "conservative" image.

ogdelsol - Could you post some pics of your evo w/ the OZ wing - some side pics etc. Different angles from Vanilla Sky's pics.

Thanks.

UGLY! and "Non-functional" at best!

Looks-wise I prefer either the CF wing or NO wing at all. Function-wise, only the CF wing will give the car stability on a high-speed track.

If you're gonna drive the Evo like it OUGHT to be driven, then the CF is where the party's at!

Actually the spoiler has the 3rd brake light in it and there is no brake light in the back window. The spoiler also actually allows you to see everything in your rearview mirror--when I sat in the Evo with the CF spoiler there was a slight obstruction--not too bad--I had a Honda CRX with a Jackson Racing wing where you couldn't see a dump truck pulling up behind you.

why do you guys want it in "stealth mode"?....like a wing will make people think "oh oh oh....a rice boy wanna be evo, lets kill him"....just dont see the point of buying an evo and being a sleeper.....go with a civic and do it.
as far as the wing goes......its ugly.
