The stock wing does add some stability over 100 mph, not that I would ever drive that fast...

My second choice would be an RS trunk, or get the stock holes filled.

BTW, if you take the wing off your trunklid will fly open with much force unless you do something with the stock trunklid springs to compensate for the lighter weight.

I'd really like to know if there is any correlation between those who prefer the wing and those who prefer no wing, and their ages. My rather limited face to face contact with local EVO owners tells me that in general, younger owners like the wing and older owners prefer wingless. What do you'll think?

And, BTW, I'm {cough} 55 and wingless!

I plan on going wingless and I'm 21. To me it just looks cleaner and draws less attention which IMO, is a good thing.

My question is after I take the wing off, how do I fill the holes? I'm guessing you just fill them, then have a shop paint it?

On your "new" IX, I'd either buy a new/used trunk lid, or have a body shop fill the holes and spray the lid.

My VIII was 4 years old when I bought it a year ago, so I simply bought some black plastic body fasteners to fill in the holes. If you want to see pics let me know. That way I can put the wing back on when the new new American Autobahn is built. hahaha!
