I ordered some touch up paint from my mitsu dealer (using my vin) and they gave me Labrador Blk Pearl X42. Is this the correct touch up paint for a Trarmac Blk Pearl Evo?

As far as I can tell, it's the same. It takes some work though to get it to blend in with the paint!
As far as I know its the same. I had a vin for a tarmac black evo the other day and by the vin it says 'labrador black'...strange. Perhaps they just used a different name on certain ones.

^^ Same pen I got from the dealer..... but... even more strange is this....
I had a 2003 tarmac black EVO and now I have a 2006 tarmac black EVO. My 06 is an arseload more blue than my 03 was. Under a floresent light I would go as far as to say they are two completely different colors.
BTW -- Russell, I got that refund. Thanks for taking good care of me. Props to MitsubishiParts.Net!!!

Yea when nice and clean and seen in sunlight, you can actually see a metallic purple imbedded in the black paint. Guess, that is what gives its pearly touch.
I have an 06 Tarmac Black GSR

car colors do cahnge even if it the same name tarmac black, its called vareants. it could change at the beging of a the year or even in the middle of the year mitsubishi could have added a gram or two drops of some blue or something.when you bring your car to a bodyshop and they have to paint an tarmac black evo befor they paint they check by spraying color chip vareants cards there coluld be 3 or 4 vareants in colors,so the painter would spary all 4 cards and see witch card matches up to the car the best. i just painted the hole side of my apex silver evo and there where 4 diff vareants t go with in my case i piced vareant #3. hope this helps....Originally Posted by Jeff_Jeske
