Body & Paint Guys - I need your opinion

OK, eventually (perhaps not for a year or two) I will be getting my Rally Red IX repainted.

Now, some love it, some hate it, but this is the paint scheme I want:

So, my question to you is... how much will this cost me? I realize that a lot can be done with vinyls, but in terms of the straight Black, Grey, & Red... how much will it cost to get that done from the VERY GOOD paint shop?

The stickers/logos/decals etc I will worry about separately...

But I'd like show quality paint with enough protection that I can RallyX the car.

Ouch. Prices start around 4-5000 here. Layout, time, and bodywork.

Vynals would honestly be cheaper, last longer, and that's what they do on most race cars.

2 to 6k on average it cost around $250. per panel for a single OEM style coating. Add 2 to 4 hours for stripes, labor rates vary $50 to $80 an hour. Expect to pay more if you want the jambs done. Try not to take it to a shop that is really loaded up on work they usually charge more. Most shops will give big discounts to you when there slow especially if your not in a hurry to get it back like the winter time.

Thanks guys for your help. Any suggestions on where to price out Vinyl?

I'll at least consider it since most people are suggesting it

if your actually going to rally the car do NOT get an expensive paint job. that would be the worst idea ever.

since theres going to be three differnt layers of color its going to cost more than the average paint job. At the shop i used to work at a basic paintjob was around 5k, so i would guess your looking at spending atleast 6500....depends on what shop you go to.

I will be rallying, but obviously not a sponsored team... just my individually funded RallyX and dirt/tarmac events.

Thanks everyone for your input... keep it coming

i work for a bodyshop, and for something like that i say more then 6k even if you do something on top of the stock red. the black and grey go from the fenders all way to the quarters,so a shop would have to prep the hole side of your car and hood put the black and grey base then clear the hole car. im not to sure on the price of Vinyl but im sure its not anything like 6k..

The shop I work at in Milbury MA would prob charge anywhere from 6-7k. This would include everything wet sanded and buffed. It might be a little more expensive but you would not be disappointed. Send me a pm if you are ever interested in a qoute.
