I'm similar to the above Poster, I prefer action/panning shots that capture the speed of the moment. I use a Canon 10D that I bought new way back about 5 years ago. get a good body but spend your money on Lenses. Go as low as a F-stop as you can afford. Bodies come and go every 6 months they will be obsolete before you can open the box. I prefer Canon most pros use their stuff, you see the infamously expensive white lenses at every race track in the country and world wide. Now-a-days the hobbiest entry level camera gear is way better than top of the line pro gear just 5 years ago. Consider down the road what your goals are. Camera gear is way expensive and just like our Evos they demand the $$ to make you satisfied with the results you want. Speed is an addiction and Cameras are just as addicting.
Canon 30D
Canon 20D
Canon EF-S 28-135mm F2.8
Canon EF-S 70-200mm F1.4 IS L
Canon EF-s 10-22mm F2.8
I do some professional portraits, but the car stuff is just a hobby, for now.
