i just took off everything that would come off, then taped over all the vents, and the visor opening, sanded it down (just scuffed it up some), wiped it down to get all the dust off, couple coats of primer, good solid coat of metallic purple, let it dry, coat of phantom gray pearl, then two small cans of clear coat, and half of a big can of triple thick clear coat haha. there was some dust in the garage after the last coat of clear so there's some dust stuck in the coat. i'm gonna wet sand it down a little to clear that up and smooth out the finish. you can't see it unless you get close, or use flash photography up close.

 

Wow, that is really cool. And not too difficult at all... Custom helmet here we come!

 

yeah, i'm gonna either pick one up, or try a DIY on that too. we'll see
