My "EXOTIC" Detail of the month
good job man, looks good. i myself partake in buffing and basically anything to do with making paint look alot better then it did. i work at a place called PL Customs where we build the cabs of ambulances from scratch basically. i obviously buff and am one of the lead buffers there. but to answer some peoples questions. Getting swirls out of paint is fairly easy and is actually something any1 can do if u have some kinda of control. It also helps alot better to even take a little 3000grit sandpaper to lightly scuff up the clear in the area thats needed. On a car like an EVO it would be easy to shine up mainly because the clear is newer and it would take alot of stress off the operator knowing that he has a lesser chance of burning through the clear. To ensure a nice buff or a " shiny " finish. Try some 1500 grit then move up to the 3000 grit on a palm sander aka DA, get some descent compound, set it at around 1800rpms ( my preference ) get rid of all the haze and run over it again with a nice finishing compound with a finishing pad. ( the light is your friend with buffing as well, catch the object ur buffing at certain angles to ensure u got rid of all ur haze, it may look done from a distance but using the light from above u and catching it from certain angles u can actually see ur NOT finished lol... don't buff in the darkness =] )
