The last few details...ONE thread (sorry for posting multiple)

The local Porsche detail department "detailed" this vehicle for the owner because the Service Dept. had it a few weeks TOO long...and the owner was getting ticked off. I told them the price, and they told me have it done tomorrow

2002 C5 Corvette - Vehicle was covered in white overspray. A neighbor was painting a house/fence - well you know the rest. Owner wanted the vehicle brought back as best as possible, so I did my best. No before shots, camera failed bigtime.

1998 Mustang GT - Extensive list of modifications. I would say OVER $50k has been invested into this vehicle, and it is one of, if not THE cleanest Mustang I have ever seen. It really is clean, simple, and POWERful. Owner had the vehicle kept up well, just needed paint correction.

Hey guys. Another Sunday, another detail. This 2005 Volvo XC90 was lightly covered in swirls, but the hood was awful. It was covered in etching that had eaten through the clear, and down to the primer in some areas. At one point I had nearly 90% of the hood wetsanded with 1500grit. Some of the deeper stuff that went to the primer, I could not bring back. The owner is coming to pick it up tomorrow, hope she is pleased with the outcome.

Time: 9.5 hours, no breaks.

Menz SIP w/Orange CCS @ 1500rpm x2 on all panels
Menz 106FF w/White CCS @ 1400rpm
Clearkote RMG w/Blue CCS @ speed 5
Clearkote CMW w/Red CCS @ speed 4.5

2007 Porsche Carerra 4S

I take care of this vehicle weekly. It has reached over 3400 miles right now. He had the vehicle serviced recently and all of my previous work gone to waste. It was badly swirled on the hood, trunk, and roof. It was sad due to the fact I just polished the car a little over 2 weeks ago. Anyway, the clear was not too hard which was a relief. Took a little over 7 hours on this one...

-Zaino Z7 Wash
-Zaino Z18 Clay with Z7 as lube
-Megs Wheel Brightener for wheels
-Megs SD cut 4:1 for wells and tires

-Menzerna 106FF via rotary and LC CCS White @ 1500 (x2 roof, trunk, hood)
-Zaino Z6 wipedown
-Z5 Pro/ZFX/Z8 x3 over the day
-Zaino Z16 on tires

2005 Subaru WRX STi

Another client that was referred from a friend. The owner is selling the car so she wanted the entire vehicle thoroughly cleaned. Spent a good 6 hours on this.

-Steamed/Extracted the interior carpet and seats
-Z9 to clean interior
-Z10 to protect interior
-Z6 in jams
-Stoners IG for glass

CN: Jet Black is the WORST color to own, no other color compares. It is impossible, BMW should make people sign a notice when they agree to buy this color

This car has less than 800 miles on it. The owner brought it to a local "Detail Salon" and it was wrecked As you can see in some pictures, holograms everywhere, buffer trails from a WOOL pad covering the hood...

The Process...

Exterior:
1. Rinsed down the wheels
2. Sprayed down the wheels with Megs WB cut 4:1
3. Brush and cleaned the wheels (shmitt wheel mitt)
4. Rinsed down the wheels
5. Filled the bucket with water for the rinse (2 bucket method)
6. Filled the foam gun and soaked the car (let lather for 5-7 min)
7. Shmitt to wash the car (THSR - Top Hood Sides Rear)
8. Thoroughly rinse
9. Spot clay - because I had clayed the car a week prior (clay using Sonus green - and Prima "Slick" detail spray)
10. Car is clayed and dried (dry using WW)
11. Menzerna 106FF @ 1400-1800 to polish out any imperfections.
-Hood, Trunk, Sides were 1400rpm using LC yellow pad
-Convertible "Hard Top" was 1800rpm using LC yellow pad (hard as HECK:huh
12. Wipe down excess after polishing.
13. Heads, tails, fogs got ZAIO (zaino-all-in-one)
14. Exhaust tips got Adams 1
15. LSP - Megs #16

Interior:
1. Wiped down the door jambs with Prima "Slick" detail spray
2. Vacuumed the mats, carpet, etc.
3. Wiped down the interior and used Z9 on the leather
4. Wiped down the dash with a MF towel
5. Cleaned the glass (Stoners IG)

Engine:
1. Rinse with pressure washer
2. Megs APC cut 4:1
3. Rinse again
4. Dry using leaf blower and MF WW
5. 303 Aerospace protectant to all plastics/hoses etc.

Before Shots (Car was just cleaned by the owner prior to me - a few days earlier - as you can tell it does not appear dirty)

Swirls were present...

Shot of the holograms - streaking...

After Shots:

Direct sun 99% corrected...

What an awesome job with these cars! Out of curiosity, what is the price range for this kind of wash/detail service?

When you do this work, are those swirl marks and general damage that you're highlighting in the before pics actually removed? Or are they just hidden under the layers of wax and become visible once those wear down?

Asking out of ignorance as to what professional detailers provide. I know when I detail my cars it looks similar to those pics (of course we all know the pics just aren't capturing everything), but once it rains on the car a number of times and the wax wears down I can see my damaged paint again. So I love my cleaned and waxed car for all of a couple weeks and then it's back to the same blah paint again.
