It is indeed a metal flake. The is blue, pink, and purple flake.

 

All the waxes I use bring the purple out in my paint. Which I like!

Yes there is. Depending on the contents of said wax it can either bring out or mute the flake. Just like certain waxs look better on certain color cars. Trust me try out as many waxs and detailing products as I have and you would know I'm right. And I don't mean pep boys bs.
