i was looking through the PO's maintenance records..it looks like he had a 3" dp installed previously

the log doesnt say what brand, but the first 3 letters of the part number are RMR, is that just coincidence or could I possibly already have a RMR 3" downpipe?

See if you can fit a regular 3 inch beer can in it...if you can, then it's a piece from RMR.

Use an impact gun? That's how I did mine My stock downpipe gaket wasn't fun though.

You WILL throw a CEL with a test pipe. I repeatedly threw CEL with my HFC. Just spend the extra $15 on the CEL fix.

Sometimes even an impact gun isn't enough. I had to also use a torch to heat the bolts when I first changed my dp.

did you remove both of the black lower subframe braces? there should be five bolts in total and they are right under where the two rubber hangers for the downpipe are. or is it that you're having trouble getting the downpipe free from the o2 housing? if so give it a good wack with a rubber mallet. i had to do that with my stock downpipe to get it free from the donut gasket.
