So Who's Got Rust???

post up where you got rust and if possible some pics. just wanna see how many of us has rust already, especially if you like to play in snow and rain.

i'll start. i have rust on the rear driver side panel. 2 spots actually. one where a rock chipped the paint off and the other was from me. i was trying to kick snow off from the rear tire well and i guess i chipped some paint off of the little edge there. i put some clear touch up paint on it to try to stop the rust. looks like it worked so far. its been a year.

also mention all areas where you got chips.

Apparently that happens alot, almost everyone encounters that problem rust spot when they go to replace their bumper

My VIII and my IX both had rust in those spots, but I cleaned the surface rust off and sealed the exposed metal. One less thing to worry about later. The only rust buggin me right now is my exhaust manifold. Might be sending that out to PPI to get cleaned up inside and out.

i coated the stock exhaust manifold myself. its pretty good. hasnt flaked off for about 20k miles now. i used cermaic coating from checker auto (kragen, schucks) VHT high heat ceramic. well, it works and of course, i coated it like 10-15 times.

heres a pic. u really cant see the whole thing but...its under the heat shield..obviously
my uncles thought it was gay and ghetto. i thought it was a good idea!

Had a fairly serious rust problem in my door jams. Apparently the surfaces weren't cleaned appropriately before factory paint was applied. The dirt & contaminants caused rust that eventually came through the paint and clearcoat. The repair/repaint was not covered by Mitsu corporate but the dealer was so embarrased by the poor quality control that they covered it without corporate support.

And I do have a few rock chips that are rusting too.
