without the extension it was not much of a problem but with the extension, you have to slowly lift the trunk or else it will hit it. as for the old thread issue, just using the search button I guess

I tried to see if my IS' antenna is shorter but I guess they are of the same length.

Not true. Both the honda dealer on Beach Blvd, in huntington Beach and the one at the Cerritos Auto Square said they were $31.00. I ended up getting one for $26.00 from a third dealer.

When my wife flings open the trunk lid, the wing/wicker bill hits the antenna. After the trunk lid settles into the open position, its a good 1-2" away from the antenna. To fix it, I glued 1/8" thick rubber shims to the metal plate where the trunk lid rubber stoppers hit.

Yeah you have to open it up slowly other wise it hits the antenna. Time to get a smaller one.

You can get an S2000 antenna for around $22 or less on eBay

Nobody has recommended a 1 cent fix: a piece of clear tape on the wing. Replace the tape when it gets cruddy looking. That's way too late for me and my messed up wing, but it's what I would do NEXT time!

Happens to mine all the time. I have about a 1.5 inch scratch on my wing that'll need to be polished out at some point.
