JDM Headlight Projector Retrofit

Although many Evolutionm.net members consider EVOdave to be the sole provider of high quality headlight modification, I thought I would bring your attention to a company called Lightwerkz.net

Here is a recently completed project which required retrofiting the JDM headlamp housing with Acura TSX projectors. Take a look and you will see why the owner decided to go this route! The difference is quite amazing.

I do not work for this company, nor am I in any way affiliated with its owner. I am simply offering a new alternative to the EVO owners out there! You can check out more of their recent work on the high-intensity.org forum or the lightwerkz.net website. Their work is hard to beat!

How much does that mod cost? and does he provide the headlight already completed as a package?? The evo HID beam pattern has always kinda disappointed me. The jdm integra HID was much better even.

That is actually a painted USDM housing and lense. The JDM one has the etched lense. And what is the advantage of a TSX projector over a stock USDM one? If he was going from the JDM EVO to TSX I could see but going from USDM EVO to USDM TSX? And it looks like it doesnt fit "perfect". A little small for the opening.

^Exactly. The projector is much smaller than the hole......

I've had my jdm MR headlights for a good 3 years now, and I don't see the fuss of poor visibility. I see fine with mine. Wherever they are pointing, I can still see fine.

Go eat some more carrots!

I see some differences but not a whole lot. To me, I think this would be a waste of money. I rather spend it on some JDM headlights or something. But that's just my opinion.

Are you sure? I believe they are JDM lenses as you will notice from the reversed beam pattern. USDM lenses have a tendency to rise on the right side of the vehicle, and JDM on the left. Either way, if you take the time to look at the pictures, you will see there is quite an improvement in the beam pattern and overall visibility over the stock projectors. The TSX projectors were chosen due to the fact that the lens opening on the housing was too small for other applications. You can read all of this info in the thread.

The customer sent in his JDM housings to have the new projectors installed for a reason. I spoke to the installer of LightWerkz and he noted that the wiring in the housing was a bit different from that in the USDM housings. Check out that beam pattern on the stock projectors, that is weak!

No you are right. I saw that one pic and thought the lense was back on and it actually was still off...lol. If you have ever seen EVODave JDM MR heads you will notice the chrome parking light area as opposed to the clear etched lense of the JDM MR. I guess I didnt scroll down far enough when I clicked on that link you provided. my bad...

Not many people on here can appreciate the difference between our stock HID's and a set of tsx's, tl's or s2000s. For the few that can, it's pure bliss driving at night with one of the best projector setups out there (IE s2000's, tsx's, tl's, etc...).

Can I ask how much they charged for that retrofit? You can pm me if you'd like.

I was curious, because I had a couple sets of s2000 projectors laying around, but am very doubtful they'd fit, due to the big projector bowl.

I've retrofitted a couple setups in some hondas that me and my bro have had in the past.

Looks GREAT!
