Painting your IC

i was thinking of painting my intercooler black and was wondering if anyone new a good paint to use? hi temp? or just a standard black primer?

if its ur stock ic dont do it...matter of fact dont do it period lol u will regret it later on....but anyhow use a high temp flat paint

Actually, my buddy painted his ic with that chrome colored paint. It actually looked good too. I would go with a black chrome type paint.

how big are the drawbacks going to be if the whole thing's painted? I don't see any problem with logo's and such but painting the whole thing might lower the cooling efficiency a bit? idk

i too would like to paint that black on mine for the contrast effect.

actually i bought a used ams ic and i don't really like having the ams logo so i thought i would just paint the whole thing black.

check out the ets vendor forum... they offer anodizing that isnt suppose to affect the cooling abilities of an IC plus it looks awesome (they have a pic of one painted black for stealth).

i don't think they are offering to do that on any ic, just their's. i already have a bigger ic that i don't want to say AMS on the front of it anymore.

Whatever you do just don't spray straight down, horizontally is how you do it an it'll only stick to the first layer of the FMIC. Otherwise it'll get inside and that'd be bad : /

It will get inside? I thought that intercoolers were air-tight? (seriously) I thought that it was more or less a big heat-sink. Someone please correct me.
