why is your reverse light on the drivers side red and not on the passenger?.. or is it
The reverse indicator is actually a rear fog lamp on the driver's side. For the UK market, the rear fog lamp was already integrated so you get only 1 reverse indicator, normally at the passenger's side and a rear fog lamp at the driver's side. This should only turn on when the front fogs are on. The rear fog emits a bright red light and is typically used for safety reasons, i.e. to make your car visible from behind in the fog.
To the OP, if you have an MR, you will notice that you already have a 10A fuse in your fuse box for the rear fog lamp and the car and your taillight with the rear fog is already pre-wired. Good luck with this!
