Spoiler re-clear... How much?

Just like the title says I was one of the unfortunate ones that couldn't get the spoiler replaced under warranty as I was the 3rd owner and the mitsu. dealer in GA was being gay. I was quoted around 250 by a local body shop just to reclear the faded part and felt that was a tad bit high. I have the money to do it now, but I don't want to pay 250 bucks for it. Has anyone paid a body shop to just re-clear the wing and around how much did you pay?

Not sure about that price. I just took off my spoiler, and was quoted $740 to fill and re-spray my trunk. Yikes.

I had mine done locally, but I knew the guy so he just did it on the side for free. It looks alot better once it's recleared though, no more sun spots. good luck.

Thanks. I had a friend that worked in a body shop back in GA and I should have had them do it. They quoted me 100 bucks, but I really never had the money than.

$50 to re-clear the top portion of my VIII spoiler (brining the spoiler to them). This was from two different shops in my area.

Thats what i'm talking about. I'll go check some other shops. I can remove the spoiler in a matter of minutes, so thats not a problem. Did you have to do the prep work yourself or they are just going to do it all?

how bout a DIY solution? go to a auto paint supply store and get some 1000 grip paper and some top notch clear coat and sand it down and spray it your self? i did some stuff like that and came out looking wet as hell!! perfect finish! and you prob spend 20-30 bucks!

I thought about that, but I don't have a spray gun. I wouldn't mind doing it myself. Also I'm not sure how far you sand down and what you do after you sand it.

Well I had already started wet-sanding the clear, but I highly doubt that had anything to do with the price quote as I maybe spent 20 minutes or so doing it.
