Those of you who know the TME Evo 6 know what the stripes are all about. This setup , in my opinion, looks absolutely stunning....



I actually found a picture of someone who put the TME stripes on an Evo 8. Something is lost in the translation but it's at least interesting.

What do you all think? Would doing this to my car make me worthy of being severly beaten for acts of desecration or admired for paying homage to the 4-time world rally champion?

 

It's not so bad. I'm just not a fan of stripes on cars that have less than 8 cylinders and 5 liters or so.

 

Eh, I feel like to be true to the TME, the strips need to ride lower on the doors. Anyway, props for being different, but it just seems a little off to me.

 

I agree - the lines on the Evo 8 do need to be shifted down a bit. The top line should be just to the top of the door handle.

Just to clarify, I haven't done this to my car.. only thinking about it. If I did do it, I'd be sure it looks as close to original as possible.

 

It'll look pretty good if done right. I wouldn't do it but it dosn't look bad IMO.

If it's it done right but I've seen a few out there and it just doesn't look right. It somehow cheapens the look.

 

I don't want to cheapen the look - just do something unique. What about something less bold and just a simple white line over a black line.. like this?

Of course the lines won't look so obvious in real life.. so maybe it'll be ok. And maybe look even better with some white rally style wheels like on the TME.

I guess I can try it and if it absolutely sucks just peel them back off again. I'm just trying to come up with an idea to dress it up a little bit without looking ghey.. but this might not be it.

 

My opinion is that the stripes should stay on the car it was intended for....the TME, not on an VIII.

The 8 looks to modern for stripes IMO..!

 

if the car was a different color and the stripes were a different color like as car and blue stripes

But if you must, one down the center.
