Seibon has just lost my business.
I contacted Seibon about their OEM-style CF hood, and their customer service is absolute crap. Check out the email:
Hello,
I am inquiring about the OEM-style carbon fiber hood my 2006
Mitsubishi Evolution IX MR. I am wondering if the Seibon OEM-style hood
will accept my Ralliart hood panel. What I am referring to is the panel
that is directly under the mesh on the hood. Are there bolt holes to
accept this panel, or is there one molded in? I would really like to
use the Ralliart panel I have, so any information you can give me would
be great. Thank you,

Hi sorry Ryan but unfortunately I wouldn't be able to give you the answer
to that. We have not tried working with the Ralliart grill before. Sorry.

So, I tried again...
I am sorry, I should have mentioned that it is the same design as the
OEM Mitsubishi hood panel. Is that any help? It bolts up exactly the
same as the factory original one. Thanks

case I rather tell you the truth that we do not know then to make a guess
for it. Hope you understand. Thank you.

Ok, seriously, they make the damn hoods. What kind of customer service is this? What can I expect if I buy the hood and there is some sort of flaw in it or something like that? They couldn't walk out the damn door and see if there were a few bolt holes on the underside of the hood? They couldn't ask whoever designed the thing? Am I expected to buy one and just hope that is there? Not going to happen. I think Deft Racing just took my business away from Seibon.

Damn, I liked their response to be honest with you. They were polite and admitted that they did not know the answer instead of saying it would fit so you would buy the hood, only for you to find out later that they were wrong. Top notch service if you ask me because as mentioned above, they can't test every combination of parts an end user might apply to their product

To me, it would be the equivalent of someone asking a manufacturer if their, lets say header, bolts to the stock turbo. If you got the response "we don't know", what would your reaction be? I would think a manufacturer should know if an OEM part will or will not bolt to said product. Don't get me wrong here, I am not knocking Seibon's quality--I have their carbon trunk and it fits beautifully. I just think that their customer support needs some work.

They politely said they're telling you the truth which is they don't know, bad customer service would be if it told you it fitted and it doesn't. From their stand point just because YOU say it fits just like stock doesn't mean they know for sure words can be true.
I honestly don't see bad customer service on that.

.On a serious note though they told you the correct thing as others have said. They were honest enough to say they didn't know.
They told you the truth there is nothing wrong with there answer,
At this point instead of sending them another email and getting the same answer, why don't you just ask some people on here? There are alot of people on this board with that hood it will not take you long to get your answer. You need to realize that the person who responded to your question did not design the hood, has never installed this hood, and more then likely really doesn't know anything about evo's
not trying to be in ***, it just comes out that way, you giving you in honest opinion and some insight.
