Yeah it's not the purchase price of a formula car that will kill you, it's the tires and maintenance. Not that the evo is going to be any cheaper, it's just now I can justify it by taking the evo out any time I want, and not have to tow it hours just for a couple sessions, 1-2 a month.

I don't want to add it up, but I did price hunt EVERYTHING. You would be surprised at the deals you can find on new stuff in the used section on here.

It would be great if you could get some chassis pics up too. Lots of parts pics but nothing to be seen of the actual car itself apart from when you picked it up.

Keep up the great work!
Thanks! Yeah I did all of the suspension, hubs, wiring harness install, some of those bushings are a *****. Unfortunately I never took any pictures of that progress. Once I get the car back I will take lot's more photos. I will still have a bunch more stuff to install once I get the car back.

good luck and post more pctures of your project
Down the road I probably will go with a full cage, but right now this is going to be a full street legal car so that is why I opted for the autopower. This will run time attack and hill climb events, but my main goal for this car was to be driven hard 2-3 times a week in the mountains. I work the night shift (11-7) which I have for 10+ years, so on my days off, when I got sick of infomercials, I started to run in the mountains at 3am. I know I have watched one too many initial D episodes.

just trying to help you out
I agree 100%, I just wish sparktech was around when I bought my COP ages ago.

The massive Stoptech 6 pistons should be fine. Just curious what would you suggest? Tons of SCCA world challenge teams run stoptech's with great results.

I really need to update the blog with where I got the arms, because I owe Billy at kami speed a big thanks. He gave me a great deal on the arms and tie rod ends. So anyway to answer your question. www.kamispeed.com

The arms and tie rods are awesome! Hopefully next year I will get the rear arms, but right now I am broke.

Yeah hopefully it will, and for the price I got them for, I couldn't pass them up. Got them 50% cheaper than all the other 6 piston kits out there, and there is no way they (brembo, endless, whatever) offer 50% better braking.

Will just need to pickup more aggressive pads for track days.

Right now it and a whole slew of other parts are with Nick at DTM and probably already installed. I just want the car done at this point so I can drive the car, but I think down the road I will do just that. The Pro-14 looks insane!

Just got the final two AEM serial datastream gauges in. Will be running three in the Gruppe-S triple HVAC gauge panel and three in the dash mount Rexpeed gauge pod.

Arai Gp5-w

Got my helmet in. Wearing it as I type because it fit's that good. I am really itching to get this car on the track now. The GP5-W version has an 18mm larger eye port which is cool. This is now my second ARAI helmet and you just can’t beat the fit of these helmets. Maybe I just have an ARAI shaped head or something, but every other helmet I have tried doesn’t come close to the “fit like a glove” feel of an ARAI. You can also get different cheek size pads to really make sure it fit’s like a glove.

They look dope also!
