Is anyone elses steering wheel peeling?
I think its the sweat from your palms.. Mine did it too when the car had about 10k on the odometer.. However it hasn't done it since so it leads me to believe that its either only in that specific area due to stretching, or the sweat... Whats funny is at this point, its blended in and you don't notice it peeled at this point.
The dealer did say they would replace it under warranty at the time, but I wanted to keep the wheel that was replaced and they wouldn't do it.. so I left it alone and figured I'd buy a new steering wheel as a back up one day.

it's actually probably the sweat in ur palms. . .sweat naturally has a very basic content, lots of salts and gunk, and leather is a skin. . . .so, to PREVENT this sort of thing from happening, wipe your hands if you're sweaty, and use Zymol leather cleaner and conditioner, so the leather stays moist and does not get ratty, which is what happens when your sweaty palms leave sweat marks and dry up. . . .
