here's a couple of cars my buddies and I pieced together and worked on for the Grassroots Motorsports $2008-2010 challenges. Both cars were bought and built for under $2000.
1g Talon: Stitch welded, shaved, and tucked. My teammate also built a custom icebox for the intercooler piping before the throttle body.

MKIII Supra:
Before:

During:

Electrical harness/engine harness already installed. Only missing charge piping, intake piping, and radiator.

^ Ok so what's the deal with the gold foil stuff? I know it's to deflect/shield heat, but how is it applied? Is it something that you just slap on, or is it more complicated than that?

It is applies just like you would tape; it is sticky on one side.

After looking through 19 pages of this thread I don't even know if my "custom" engine bay belongs! Definately not as wild and crazy as some of the simply awesome & jaw-dropping bays in this thread but I thought I'd share. I like keeping it simple and really focusing on the details. Almost doesn't look it makes the 500+whp it does. I plan to keep things the same when the ER 2.4LR goes in too
