How to get rid of tree sap and bird ****

The owner of a local body shop told me that the best way to get rid of the crap is to get a soft cloth (I used an old T-shirt) soak it in hot water...I mean hot not boiling and place it on the crap

After a lil while it should just come rightoff with no fuss....just tried it out and it worked!

An earlier scuffle with bird **** prompted this thread

That works well for bird crap. Not as well for sap. For sap you can use warm water, and then put a drop of car wash on a wet towel. Just lightly rub the sap in a back and forth motion. And keep adding warm water to the cloth to clean out the accumulated sap.

If you get really impatient use 3M adhesive remover. Just don't use a lot of pressure.

my dad showed me a trick a while back with tree sap, you can take a penny and turn it on its side(straight up and down) and scratch the sap off, and it doesnt scratch the clear coat either, then wash it and use some kinda polish to buff it out

Have you tryed a thick coat of dawn and hot water. It seems to work pretty well for several things like that so it is worth a shot.

I use the amor all car wash wipes. you have to do it on a cool day. One or two wipes should clean the whole evo and remove the sap.

Dishsoap removes vital lubricants from your paint!
I would not suggest using it.
If you already have use it make sure you wax the car immediately!
Then wax it again and again.

Butter is supposed to work for sap. Not sure if I'd butter my car though...
