98 Mirage to Evo 6.5 TME
Not neccessarily true, there are slight differences in front and rear lights between lighter and darker shades of TME and the trim models. Like some have clear side(light colored cars) front indicators others orange. Some don't even come with lights on the trunk, mine doesn't. I'm not sure if it an RS thing or because the light shade same with the TME decal.
PLEASE tell me how much this cost you, because this was the main reason why I wanted to join this site. Well, at first, I was going to do this with a 2004-05 Lancer and turn that into an Evo VIII, but then I thought to myself, "Why not look and see if anyone did this with my TRUE, EXACT dream car; the Evo VI TME," AND HERE IT IS; 41 pages of pure epicness in the best thread on this site.
I showed this to my older brother (who is a true car enthusiast, by the way) and he said, "Why not buy a TME from overseas?" I told him, "It will cost a lot to ship it here LEGALLY. It will have to go through NA crash test regulations (meaning more money for parts/repairs), and I have to fill out an a$$load of papers and documents. I'd rather have more fun building an Evo VI TME over a three-year length of time out of a '98 Mirage sedan."

If you send me a PM I can give you more info on the total cost of something like this. There are a lot more parts on the market now than when I started. For example there is an Evo 5 front clip with all the front and rear body panels, engine, dash and subframe for under $6000. That is an amazing deal, and that is the best way to start a project like this. A decent Mirage shell can be had for under $1000.
@neoman, there is plenty of interest in body panels and interior pieces here in the states.

Tiny little update. This whole thing might not seem a big deal for most of you Evo 8/9 guys, but for me this rear wiper was one of the most important parts of the conversion. The Mirage came with a plain rear window and the only place to get one with a rear wiper was Japan. Luckily I found a parts importer willing to send me a window last summer. There is only one other person I know of who has done this window swap (to date). If you ever see an Evo 4-6 and you can't tell if it's legit or not, check for the rear window wiper.
Although I have had the rear window and wiper installed for quite some time now, I finally got around to making it functional. Since I wanted to go OEM it took awhile to find a wiper controller that supported left-hand drive, but I ended up getting one just a few weeks ago. A few wire extensions later and...

I had a professional install the glass, but the motor and wiring was pretty straightforward. Once I installed the LHD rear wiper controls (uses same wiring harness) I connected 3 wires and that was it. No splicing or looking for a power source.
