Picture Request: Powdercoated BBS IX SE Wheels
Hey guys,
Was looking at some powdercoated BBS IX SE wheels and I couldn't find one done in a timeattack style (Black wheels with a red-lined lip). If anyone could find pictures for me, or if your car has this setup please post pictures! Thank you in advance!

And no, the MR and SE are NOT the same appearance wise minus the vortex generator and gurney flap.
He is right. The MR itself doesn't come with the front lip, diamond black finished BBS wheels, red stitching, all the SE stuff. But there is an MR with the appearance package (SE stuff).

well maybe every MR i looked at was an MR SE the all 12 of them
that were on the lot...no not the red stitching and it was outter appearance not interior
I powdercoated mine gloss black. If you want time attack style, your best bet is to powdercoat the rims all black, then mask and paint the red lip. Powdercoating two different colors with that precision can be done, but it is tough and can be expensive.
Plus, you can touch up your lip if you get any damage later.

Second, the black powdercoated BBS wheels look hot. I personally think they look better all black than Time Attack'd.
Third, yes, you CAN weaken the metal during powdercoating depending on how much heat is used. Generally, low-temp coating is fine. The high temp coating can, has, and will most likely cause microscopic cracks in the aluminum. Enough to worry about? If you track your car, yes. Daily driving? Prolly not.
