Carbon fiber trunk lid

Ok so heres the story. I bought my 05 evo8 off a somewhat local guy. He sold the wing off it because he was going to get a carbon fiber trunk lid. Well he did not have a trunk lid when I purchased the car so I have the little rust starting up and the holes.

I have been looking into the CF trunk lids and just wanted to know from people who have them what brand they are using, how it fit, if the trunk pops open real agressively due to the loss of weight, and if you can still use the trunk poper from inside the car or not.

Please no comments like "use money on go fast parts". Im sick of the rust and holes with stickers over them. Thanks in advance for any helpful comments

Just buy a seibon or vis. Just make sure you keep waxing it if it isn't garage kept

Not trying to jack the thread.. But anyone know if Seibon carbon fiber parts are 2x2 weave or 1x1 weave or if they use both, just on different parts? And what is the stock wing weave as well?

I had a VIS that I got for a killer deal and test fitted it, but needed to get some washers to extend the latch out a bit. Other than that it would have fitted, but I had to sell it for some cash. It's also been my experience with carbon fiber (not just with Mitsu's spoilers...) that either a re-clear or weekly wax is needed to keep it from fading, even if the car is kept in a garage. Also use a good wax and stay away from anything you can get at an autoparts store. If you have a harbor freight near you pick up some Collinite 845 or 476 wax. It's only about 15 bucks and will last you a LONG time.
