Exclamation We Need A-pillars!!! Vendors Help!!!

Ok guys....EVERYONE wants A-Pillars for their Lancer and/or EVO. VENDORS HELP US!!!!!!!

Road Race Motorsports Carbon Fiber - TOO expensive....looks good BUT I hear fitment issues and it's sticky taped to the original panel....not acceptable!!!

Fireballs Solution - Looks great...wanna see it in person....but has to be custom made (I think) and it has 3 pods one of which covers the tweeter (not cool but some wont mind)

AMS - 2 guage pod in development....eta....unknown (Gregg said it WILL be a while)

WE NEED ONE THAT WILL DO THIS....look good....be resaonable in price...and have 2 or 3 pods WITH The tweeter cutout grill in place.

COME ON VENDORS....you have contacts....USE THEM AND GET THESE PARTS!!! I personaly have 2 guages waiting to be put in but don't want to install them and hack them into a spot only to move them.

I have a design in my head that allows 2 gauges to be added, while continuing to have room for the tweeter grill.

I gotta go get some fiberglass to make a plug....

Yeah already saw them that's what I had meant when I did say RMR....I edited the post. It's too expensive and it has fitment issues. Why hasn't autometer made anything yet???

A-Pilar set we sell is a new molded part. Months ago we sold a generic a-pillar for U.S. Lancer. These are not the same part. THERE ARE ZERO FITMENT ISSUES. GUARANTEED. AS for price, they are full length pillars for both passenger side and drivers side. Figured EVO guys did not want something cheap but rather something worthy of their $30K+ car. Ask guys who have them. They are all very pleased with the look and fitment! We have had no complaints.

Yeah I saw it already....that's why I said...

Fireballs Solution - Looks great...wanna see it in person....but has to be custom made (I think) and it has 3 pods one of which covers the tweeter (not cool but some wont mind)

We need something now....mass marketed and proper fitment with 2 or 3 pods WITH the tweeter hole....does anyone have a better solution or can someone get Autometer to say if they are going to do one??? I keep running into a wall with Autometer when they say..."I don't have that car on my list for items available for A-Pillar pods sir" Ya think it would be a popular item!!!!

Dragon, the problem is that there are a limited number of Evos being made. ~6000 is hardly enough of a production run to dedicate a full blown effort to mass produce a gauge pod for our cars. Plus, not everyone who buys an Evo is going to want A-pillars. It just wouldn't be cost effective. That's why these smaller companies such as RRM and privateers like Fireball are picking up the slack.

The only reason Autometer makes pods for Mustangs, Camaros, and even our buddy the WRX is because they know that there is enough volume of these cars out there to make their efforts worth while.

So until there are enough of these cars around that getting parts becomes easy, we're just going to have to work with what's being dealt to us.
Personally, I give props to the people who are already making stuff. Nice work fellas!

Cutlass73 - yeah I understand that BUT....they make things for RHD vehicles like the Skyline and Slivia....EVO's are very popular in Japan and Europe as we know.....so if they are so great...and Autometer is a "big company" then they should have already been on the ball and had this product ready for the VII and VIII. Anyone with any other ideas??? or maybe someone here has a contact within Autometer and can get the REAL story???

How does $60 sound to you? Rumor has that Gaugepods is coming up with one (and you can choose color too) for around that price within couple months. You can email them for details:

I'm looking forward for someone to come up with a color matching 2 or 3 pods that can hold 60mm gauges.

By the way, check out these pics, I think the 3 pods a-pillar like this would be perfect...
