What kind of rollcage is this?
Did you not see my earlier post?? It is not a Heigo cage, I've seen many in Porsche's. They are different.
Here is my earlier post:
Everyone is close, but no cigar.
That is the Dash Sports bolt in cage. Same company as Okuyama Carbing.
I love the fact that it bolts to the B-pillar. Cool looking cage, but the same as a Cusco cage, and not approved for racing.

someone should start an "official rollcage" thread, a legit section of race approved ones and a section of bolt-ons-not for racing section...I think a lot of people are confused or dont really know which/why they would cage their evo for different circumstances. I would like to cage mine some day, but want it race org. approved, but also look good
Any facts to back up your accusation? I could post that pic and say "it would have been even worse with a bolt in cage". Again, not saying your wrong, i'd just like to see some sort of test. I would assume there's got to be some functional cages but i'd really do some research before putting one in my car
absolutely.
Heres a hint. If you're not strapped in (as in a multi-point harness) and using OEM seatbelts, you're going to flop around in an accident and its very likely you're head will smash into one of the bars.
Swing an aluminum bball bat into your head at speed, if you wish to simulate.
As for crush protection, those cusco style cages are more dangerous than nothing. If that bar with the bend in it is going to smoosh in, can you tell which way the bars going to go? Yea, most likely directly into you or into an area where you're body will be flopping around and part of you will smash or spear into it.
there is a thread around here on cages that had the same discussion.

you guys are talkin it up like us cusco/bolt-in cage owners didnt know bout this... people mod their cars differently... either for show, rarely drive the car or better yet we didnt want to mess up the interior with the through the dash custom cages incase we want to resell the car... get over it.
