Some of what I posted is evo, and some is just a regular es/ls/oz rally Lancer. The parts laying on the ground are for an evo 4-6 conversion on a 5g Mirage/Lancer. I hope this helps.

I understand. I wasnt trying to offend you. If you have the money to spend then go for it. Just trying to help people with the mistake i already did. All the money i spent on my eclipse gs i could of bought my evo in cash on the spot. Anyways good luck hope all turns out well if you go ahead with this project make sure to post picks every step of the way... Later

It wouldn't be that much cheaper to buy an evo in certain curcumstances. If you can get a base model Lancer for around $5000.00 or less, pending condition, the motor, subframe and everything for under the hood for $3000.00 or alittle more and the rear end out of an outlander for $1000.00 or little more, you could have an evo powered Lancer for around $10,000 plus cheap insurance. It would be more lightweight and you can have whatever options you wanted or didn't want. Sleeper or whatever. I stand behind people who do this. One is because I'll never be able to afford an evo, probably because I like lazy jobs that don't pay.

your crazy if u think it only cost 5000 to convert a lancer into an evo hahahaha. if that was the case lancers doing motor swaps would be as popular as hondas

The AWD and motor swap has been done on a 02-03 already. As far as the awd swap, it's not going to be cheap and will require a good amount of fab work for the rear...

The motor swap probably could be done for that... More will do it, just give it time.

Hate to be the bringer of bad news, but it seems to be a common mentality that simply swapping X motor into Y car is a way to avoid insurance woes, that's not the case. If you wreck your lancer, do you really think your insurance company is going to cover it when they find that the engine code does not match the dash/chassis VIN? Or that they've been insuring a 120 HP FWD lancer and now you have a 300 HP, AWD lancer? Too many people try to go the cheap route of not telling their insurance company, this is a very dangerous game. If they find out (ie. you crash and they check), they can deny you coverage, blacklist or even charge you with fraud. I'm not saying don't do the swap, I'm simply saying do it right.

When I was considering turboing my lancer, I was talked to my insurance company and I was explicitly told that if I modded it and didn't tell them, they wouldn't cover me, period. Make sure you run over your plans with your insurance provider.

ummm he said u could have an evo powered lancer for 10000. So if you do the math a 5000 lancer +5000 dollars to make it "evo" powered = 10000.

So yea he did say you could do the conversion for 5k so maybe you should read better.

Sure a motor swap can be done for 5k well maybe if you do it yourself. But an awd swap is gonna be pretty damn expensive. Plus with the added power your gonna need to add a clutch, new tranny, transfer case if you do the awd swap. rear diff. better springs and bigger tires.

Im sorry but that is a lot of money. So I fail to see how I was wrong when I said he was crazy if he thinks you can do a conversion for 5k

I'd say closer to 15k for everything... That's being optimistic.

I would Like to build a 2 door wide body Mirage/ Evo5 Conversion one day I say go for it if you want to.. I would just rather have the evo than a Lancer and some how I think you can find a insurance company that will insure you.. I was Insured for my first Evo at 19 so??? But It may be totally different for you? Good Luck any way
