The alarm is nice. It has builtin TT, 2way communication and the remote is smaller than most if not all 2way units on the market. DEI just released this unit a couple of weeks ago. Install was a breeze also. Range is average for a DEI system.

Was that the viper 790Vx? So how the TT and alarm work? When you arm it, does the door locks lock and the engine still running with TT?

I like the false floor. It looks like your amps are fan cooled, how much noise do you have in the passenger compartment from the fans? Also, did you do any sound deadening, and if so what type?

Solarxeclipse - It's the Viper 791. The tt is fine. you have to press two buttons on the remote in order to engage the TT. Options are 1 minute, 3 and 5. You manually have to lock the door with remote or switch unless you have it set for passive arming.

Hammerli - Thx, Amps have built-in fans. No noticebal noise over the exhaust . I used dynamat extreme for the spare tire well only.

The whole setup looks good, Chris. Two questions, how much is that alarm? And does the alarm make a sound?

The alarm goes <siren><siren><siren><siren>.
The remote goes <beep> or <vibe>
I got the alarm from my old shop, I got it plain (no install)
Price was a little over cost for me. The alarm/remote start runs about $500 bucks installed, not including additional parts i.e. Immobilizer bypass.

did you install the alarm yourself. What if I don't want the remote start, is there a cheaper version w/o it? thanks in advance

Yes, I installed the alarm myself. They sell a version of the alarm without remote start as well. BTW, circuit city carries viper and should be getting the new models anyday now.

hope you put in some kind of neutral safety switch.. i have a similar alarm setup, car tried to start in gear, now i'm going to go replace my fried starter this week , not covered under warranty b/c of the remote start and one slipup... trust me, not worth it.. either unhook the remote start part, or put some device that prevents remote start from engaging if you left in in gear.

You probably need to get into the habit of engage the handbrake and never engage in gear when you stop your car.

BTW, I have a turbo timer. I never engage in gear when I left my car. I used my handbrake. If I park on a steep hill, I use to turn my wheel to the curb side.

I think the alarm (viper) is really cool. It's like having an alarm, remote starter (good for winter), and turbo timer build-in. In additional, I think that remote looks cool. A bit bulky thou...

I hoping to get my crappy alarm replace with Viper soon.

As long as you run the TT on the car you will never have to worry about a neutral safety switch. Because with a TT, you cannot exit the car with it in gear. An myself, I never leave the car in gear.
