Yes you can, the knob just twisted off on my MR and I twisted the ARC one on. If you want to go back to the OEM just take out the ARC and put it back. 
I think what some people are referring to is that because on some members cars, the MR knob is so tough to get off they have to do a lot of stuff such as getting vice grips and tools to try and grip it off - hence damaging the knob. On mine and another local member's car, the MR knob just twisted off without any real hard work.

Just got my ARC Ti V2 knob. It looks so nice! The only thing is that it feels that my shifts are more rough know. Notchy. Did you guys experience this when you switched from gsr oem knob?

Oh and the knob you want, it retails around $180 for the matted Ti or $260 for the shiny Ti
