Oem hid bulb question - want to change output color
Hey all,
My bro just got a nice 6000k HID kit on his RSX, and honestly I'm a bit jealous of the color output compared to my oem 4300k color lol.
I'm curious to know if it's possible to change just the bulbs on our OEM hid's and get a diff color? Or do I have to get a new ballast as well?
Here is the look I'm after:

Can I just get a different bulb to get that color?
If so, which one do I need?
thanks in advance!

The ballast only powers the bulb. It has nothing to do with what color the bulb is. So as others posted you can simply replace the bulb with a different color and the ballast will power it.
I have Philips Ultinon 6k bulbs which are brighter than other 6k bulbs. Theoretically you lose about 15-20% light output going to 6k but I really can't tell any difference. I actually prefer the whiter light coupled with my Hoen yellow fogs the light output is better than my parents new CLK.

im looking for a slightly more bluer tint. I see different brands sometimes offer different variations of a color.
Anybody know what's a good 6000k D2S bulbs that will be a lil' more bluer than whiter?

If you have the $$$ I would go with Philips Ultinons, they are about the best you can get. I can take pics tommorow night to give you an idea of how they looks with 3k Hoen fogs. Let me tell you it looks night and day difference compared to OEM.
Yea I would really appreciate that, i'd like to see results before committing to spend the $$
