Fq-300 Badge!!!

Does anyone know where to get the FQ-300 badge from the UK EVO VIII? Can any of the vendors get this item and if so...HOW MUCH???? Hopefully not as expensively insane as the UK EVO VIII badge itself.

I don't see anything wrong with slapping on an "FQ-300" badge if you got the mods to back it up. Now if it is stock then thats not cool.


edit: I've asked Adam at Z1 about the "FQ-300" badge a few times and he is looking into it

You'll need to start by buying a 6 speed transmission. After that, be sure to pick up both Active Yaw Control and an Active Center Differential. All of these are pretty much standard on the non-US market Evo's, and since the FQ-300 is not a US market Evo, it would need these components in order to be near an FQ-300. As you add these components, you will also need to change out the instrument cluster so that you have the ACD display incorporated into it. The displacement, compression, bore and stroke are all the same. The extra 30 HP are picked up through an HKS Dragger exhaust system and HKS hard intercooler piping. The ECU is also remapped specifically for the HKS parts.

This reminds me of all the people who would buy Honda Intega GS-R's and then attempt Type R conversions. They would change the engine, change the brakes/hubs, change the wheels, change the interior, change the spoiler, change the suspension, and change the stickers (the most important part). When it was all said and done, they had their very own Type R....that still weighed more (even with carpet and sound deadening materials removed) and didn't perform as well as any true Type R that was out there.

Unless you have major money to spend, I would advise against this. When a 6 speed tranny will cost you about $4,000, an AYC around $5,000 and an ACD around $5,000. ....I would say that your best bet would be to sell your Evo and import an FQ-300. These prices are rough estimates, but they will get you in the ballpark.

When it is all said and done, you will be able to pull off something like this.....

90GSX...I appreciate your info. Thank you very much. I know I can only go so far before it becomes an "insane" project...but I would like to get near FQ as I can with out going overboard. It's not like I am putting a GT-R badge on my Sentra!!! LOL At least it's going to be the same type of car...unlike those who do the Type-R on a 97-01 Prelude when there never was a Type-R...only an S!!! >=O)

BTW, in case you didn't know, the Evo get's badged on the front doors, as well as the trunk.

Here, this might help you. BTW, ya might want to get the non-USDM tail lamps and headlight housings, too. They are a little different than the US versions.

god, why did they have to make the fq300 with cooler features than our models . Evolution in the cluster, hks piping, cooler taillights, acd and ayc, climate control... hell even blue inserts in the doors.

So if I convert my lancer to AWD and throw in a 4g63 I can put Evo on the back?

I find it ironic how Lancer owners get casterated for putting EVO stuff on their car....yet Evo owners don't when they put FQ300 stuff on their car. Double Standard.

Ok...incase anyone never noticed...FQ 300 stands for: F = Fuc*ing, Q = Quick, 300 = 300hp. If I want to put a FQ 300 badge on my car, or anyone else that wants to, and can back up the claim that it's F'n Quick and has 300+ hp....what's the problem??? None if you ask me, and as far as flaming, I have yet to flame anyone and care less if someone tries to flame me, who really cares what others think of what we do to our cars. What matters is what we think of our own cars and that's it.

SOOOOO....can anyone get these badges or not?
