Will this work? I HATE the chrome housings on the 8 and absolutely LOVE the black housings on the 9, but I may be buying a fast Evo 8. I mean fast.

 

yes they do you can also get yours painted black.

 

I don't want to risk messing up. Would they look better if they were painted like a gloss black?

 

they are pricy. i have them in mine and they look great though.

 

You should just paint them. Its much cheaper and they look great if you just take your time!





I just got another set of taillights that I will pull apart this week and black out the housings also!

Dude, 700WHP is fast, haha. But, I think I rather buy the 9s AND SELL the 8s to make up for the cost.

 

You mentioned that the IX are "Black" housings.. and you wanted to get rid of the "chrome" look... the 9's are basically a darker tinted chrome housing.. they are still chrome.. just slightly darker.. Yes, they do look better.. but not a HUGE difference to justify "upgrading." you should just paint your stockers, get real jdm heads and tails, or send to EVODave for modifying.
