Its for optically monitoring shock travel.

The data aq system Leh uses in his race car, AMS uses in their time attack car, and we used in our miata all have the capability to monitor wheel speed, tire pressure, and shock travel in each corner. Hope you have a lot of zip ties....

the lower piece i believe uses the upper plate to measure the travel and movement up and down

The gearing has to be optimized for tsukuba. My guess is the car is built around that track. It can probably get even faster around fuji.

Yes. Tsukuba has been home to the Cyber Evo for years now. The whole car has been built for that track. This now being on some new turf, requires a bit of gearing changes.
