Before The IX Becomes "JDM" (Update Page 2)

UPDATE AND NEW PICS ON PAGE 2

Thinking that I was going to get orders somewhere here in the States, I was going to spend about $10k on the Evo this month on mods. Turns out, I'm going to Okinawa, Japan and the Evo is coming with me . Instead, I'm going to wait get all the parts out there. This is probably the last time you will see my Evo looking stockish.

I'll be there next month and hopefully I'll have my car over there by around May-ish. I'll keep you guys updated.

I hate you. Lol. I would love to get stationed in Japan. I thought about volunteering to go over there for a few months with for some project, but realized my time would be limited and it wouldn't be worth it trying to figure out how to get parts and stuff in such a short time frame.

WOW! you can bring a car with you in Japan? Why not just get a R34 there and bring it in here? That's much better. All out JDM Bro!

I think it's the other way around. You can't bring anything older than a 1970 car. The one thing that DOES suck is that I have to pay out of my pocket for the shipping (Shipping + Registration = around $6,000 ).

Because I my Evo. Who knows, I might also buy something like that.

PS, I'll be there for a minimum of 2 years.

Um, I thought you could bring one vehicle with you...any extras you pay for.

Unless it's changed since I PCS'ed in November.

Your lucky to be going over there, i have a buddy stationed in japan right now(and had a buddy that was stationed), he tells me all kinds of stories about everything he can now get his hands on and for how much. Anyways your car is clean as it is, keep us posted as it gets even cleaner.

I lived at Misawa AB, Japan for 5 years and recently came back to the states, I can honestly say that you are better off getting JDM parts in the states. The US dollar is not what it used to be and everything is much more expensive in Japan. There are rare occasions you will find some used parts for great prices but everyone else has the same idea so if you see something you might want you better go ahead and get it. I'm guessing you are Air Force since all the Marines left? GL
